Mum-bun

All art by CheruCheriPie

Height: 1'00" - 2'00"

Rarity: Uncommon

Group: a Bouquet of Mum-bun

Young: Bud

Demeanor: Skittish & Loyal

Mum-buns are very docile creatures, even if a little skittish. They stay alert with their long ears and sensitive leaves and petals. These creatures require a lot of sunlight and water to stay healthy and for their petals to remain vibrant and full. A sick Mum-bun may begin wilting in their petals and leaves, making it easy for owners to know when they’re in need of some medical attention.

Due to their skittish nature, they can be slow to open up to new Starkin. It’s typically the fancy breeds that are better at socializing. The wild variant is quick to dart away from a new face, or hide behind a trusted Starkin or other friendly creature. The domestic Mum-bun is a happy medium of the breeds. They are the most common and are popular pets. While they aren’t quite as lax as the Fancy breeds, their trust and friendship can be quite rewarding. Mum-bun’s will flop onto their friends or try to groom them. They also love to join their owners on walks or even flies, given the proper equipment is used to keep them secure!

A baby Mum-bun, or Bud, is typically duller than when they’re fully grown. Their flower tail hasn’t quite developed yet and is still closed up. With proper sunlight and diet, they typically bloom within a few months. As they age, their blooms brighten. Even in old age, Mum-buns retain a vibrant bloom and sheen fur.

Colors vary drastically in all three breeds. They have an endless amount of patterns and colors that they can become. It is rare, however, to come across a Mum-bun with a white, gray, or black flower. They do exist, though!

These flowers are natural repellants to most would-be predators. They are poisonous to most other creatures, however Starkin find that they make pleasant teas!

Mum-buns can have any type of flower as their tail or any kind of leaves on their head! The colors of the leaves and flowers can be anything you'd like, much like the fur.
