Sanje's Welcoming

You remember closing your eyes, you remember falling into darkness. You don’t recall if it was a deep sleep, or something else, but you know your consciousness drifted.

When you open your eyes again, everything is different.

You’re in a field, with the wind making the tall grass roll like a sea. The same wind blowing through large, beautiful dense trees, their sway sounding almost like the distant roar of an ocean. The air is sweet, the sun is warm, and the breeze is cool. The earth beneath your feet is soft, with the grass gently brushing against your legs just as much so. Clouds roll across the sky above you, with beautiful blue mountains painting the horizon. Wherever you are, it’s beautiful. And wherever this is, the feeling it gives you is one of endless comforting peace.

Isn’t it lovely?

You don’t question the voice, only nod as tears roll down your cheeks. As longing fills your heart.

Isn’t this better? Better than where you were?

You nod again, the swelling in your heart coming stronger. Just the mention of where you were from the voice caused pain to fill your body. Every mistake, every hardship, every wrong you’ve done and done against you seemed to pile heavily on you.

I can give you this if you’d like. I can grant your dreams…give you new hope…

I can set you free.

You nod more vigorously, wanting that more than anything. Never wanting this peace to go away. You never felt such peace. Never felt no pain. Never felt so free.

Then come, my little star. Rest…and when you wake? You’ll be free…

Dreamers Information

Dreamers are a rather new phenomena on Urroa, being only a few thousand years old as opposed to the hundreds of thousands everything else is. Dreamers are Starkins brought into the world of Urroa by the very hands of Sanje. No one quite knows how or why, but a common theme between all of them is that it seems wherever they come from, their life was a harsh and cruel one. Of course this can’t be said for every single Dreamer, but it seems to happen far too often.

Dreamers freshly brought into Urroa are often quickly sought out and found by Sanje’s acolytes, who are quick to guide them to a nearby temple for safe keeping. You see, when Dreamers first come into their new world, they are in a dreamlike euphoric state, fully believing they are in a dream, and a very good one at that. So they have to be found quickly, or they’ll try to fly, use magic, or do other things that, while harmless in a dream, would cause very real harm if they were to attempt them for real.

Once they slowly start to come to and “wake up”, they are sent to the necessary care centers (In Duvayl’s case, they are located in The Spire) to gently ease them into their new life. They’re taught about the laws, history, how to fly, and the layout of their new home. And if they would like the old job they used to have, they are happy to try and find the closest thing possible. They are also of course allowed access to everything else an average Starkin born in Urroa have free reign to.
