Male & Female Molleon
Molleon are one of the go to, and more popular mounts in the world of Urroa, and more specifically Duvayl. They’re used for travel, pulling of wagons or heavy cargo, farm work, and their fur. They’re just as heavily admired for their beauty, and there are many Molleon shows to display the best of what the species has to offer. Despite their gentle appearance, Molleons are dependable, loyal, and have even been known to throw themselves between their riders and threats.
Female Molleon are bigger, a bit duller in color, and far less flashy than the males. They also have greater endurance and are often the ones used for longer travel and heavy labor. The males are popular for their looks, vibrant colors, big flashy wings, and the fact that they can carry their riders as they fly. Their endurance isn’t as great as the females though, and are mainly used in travel if the rider wants to get from point A to B as quickly as possible. Both sexes are desired for their fur, which is warm, soft, and naturally water repellent.
Molleon are great for traveling through harsh, uneven, or even steep terrain thanks to their unique feet. Their paws may be cute, but they're specially designed to climb and keep their footing very well, with no small thanks to the huge claws they have hidden under that fluff. It helps with hooking into place, and even in self defense. They also have hard, serrated jaws, and long thin tongues to help them eat their favorite foods; fruits, plants, and small insects. They use their jaws to bite through fruits and shells, and their tongues are for slurping up any kind of little bug that might have crawled into a tight space. Many Molleon owners will tell you how they love to use that tongue to slurp up things they really shouldn’t though. Like their rider’s morning coffee.

Young Molleon
Male Molleon use their wings, fanned tails, and flamboyant colors to attract females. They flare out their wings, fan out their tails, and swing, sway, and dance to attract the lady they have their eye on. They also chitter, chirp, and screech in “song” to help up their chances. It’s always easy to tell when it’s Molleon mating season. The males don’t hold back. If a male is successful, and impresses his lady, they will form a bond, and mate for life. The female Molleon lay 2-4 eggs, which both parents take turns caring for and incubating. If a Molleon trusts their owner enough, they will allow them to care for the eggs as well. To many Molleon owners, there is no higher honor or symbol of perfect Molleon ownership than being able to hold and show off the soft, round little eggs.
After several months, the eggs hatch and adorable little fluffy Molleon critters come wriggling out. The mother and father Molleons will carry their young in their thick manes until they’re old enough to walk about on their own, or until their platting grows in.
